Part 11 of a Series
Sustainable Development Goals: They’re a major topic on social media. But if humans want to be sustainable, we’ve got to get serious. We must divest from customs and businesses that treat animal life as commodities. This blog entry is the eleventh in a series, as we look at each of the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals. The elevennth goal is “Sustainable Cities and Communities.”
According to the UN, 70% of us will live in cities by 2050. And we’ll all need access to nutritious food. Shall we start with lentils, “the protein equivalent of meat”? Anyone familiar with an Ethiopian vegetable platter, or even a lentil soup, knows what culinary champions these little legumes are.
To make Sustainable Cities and Communities, we need ways to put food security into people’s own hands. Nobody does it better than vegan-organic growers do.
