Bio: Ellen Jaffe Jones is a certified personal trainer and nationally ranked sprint runner who also performs well in marathons. As of 2025, Ellen has placed, not just raced, in an unheard of (vegan or not) 339 5K or longer races for her age group ‘just’ on plants. A track gold medalist twice in the U.S. National Senior Games who looks 20 years younger than her actual age, she constantly gets “carded” at races and asked for her secrets. Ellen has also enjoyed careers as a media consultant, Wall Street stockbroker, Apple Specialist, and currently, in addition to online personal training, is a licensed PCRM Food for Life Instructor, licensed Florida Realtor, AND the Sarasota Community Marketing Specialist for Fit2Run, the largest running specialty store in Florida where she gets paid to run, among other things. She was voted PETA’s Sexiest Vegan Over 50 in 2014. She is the author of many books including Eat Vegan on $4 a Day, Kitchen Divided, Vegan Sex, Paleo Vegan, Vegan Fitness for Mortals, and Vegan for One . Ellen spent eighteen years as a two-time, Emmy-winning investigative reporter figuring out how to dodge genes that gave her mom, aunt, and both sisters breast cancer. Her family was part of the BRCa 1 & 2 gene studies. This test her family helped bring to the mainstream is now common for Medicare and beyond. A vegan runner for much of 40 years, she is featured as an example in The Ultimate Age-Defying Plan by Vegan Hall of Fame chef, Mark Reinfeld.
