American Vegan Center
A 76-minute walking tour through Old City focusing on its vegetarian and vegan history, led by AVC Director Vance Lehmkuhl. Attendees will see historic spots (most, unfortunately, lacking historical markers) tied to vegetarian pioneers such as Benjamin Lay, Ben Franklin, the Grimke sisters, Sylvester Graham, Bronson Alcott, Caroline Earle White, Peace Pilgrim, and Alfoncie Austin.
This tour only will feature special guest Seth Tibbott, the founder and creator of Tofurky, who is helping the AVC celebrate the birth of the U.S. vegetarian movement on this date in 1817.
The tour departs from the steps of the American Vegan Center at 17 N. 2nd Street at Noon on Sunday, June 12th.
