Request an Event Space
We welcome community groups who are open to all people.
Any meetings must be respectful of our vegan values and must disclose agenda
First priority: vegan and animal rights groups
Second priority: Old City cultural/social groups
Capacity: 50 standing, or 30 seats/stools, or 12 max around island
All events are subject to American Vegan Center (AVC) discretion. Application will be reviewed for approval by AVC staff. We will likely not approve: controversial or antagonistic groups, or those with political or religious agenda.
All cooking/kitchen events are vegan and cohosted with AVC. Other events may be considered for AVC cohosting which includes marketing and promotions.
All events are public if during our open hours. Space is free for free events. All events require a $50 security deposit.
If a ticketed event (and not cohosted by AVC), organizer is responsible for attendance, and the proceeds collected above the price of catering are split equally as a donation to AVC.
Private events are $100/hour and outside of AVC’s regular hours. Additionally, ticketed event rules apply if admission charge.
INTRODUCTION SHEET
Please ask the American Vegan Center (AVC) Greeter for the Introduction Sheet to read out loud to your attendees at the start of your event. Please be sure to return the sheet.
EVENT CLEANLINESS
Groups are required to clean up after themselves (to the AVC standard) to have their $50 deposit returned.
CATERING
No outside food or drink is permitted under any circumstances. Groups of 6 or more should order catering. Smaller groups may opt to purchase from what’s available in fridge. There is no reheating available. Catering selection has a variety of delicious, cold luncheon items.
Place your catering orders at least 14 days in advance to provide enough time for delivery. See Catering Menu for further information.
DONATIONS
As a community space, we count on donations to run keep our Center open. Please encourage your attendees to donate $5 each.
COMMUNITY SPACE
If your booking is NOT a private booking, then please be mindful of others in the space. Also please be aware that there may be unexpected sounds that occur within the space during your event.
CANCELLATIONS
Cancellation is free 14 days before your event (if catering). Less than 14 days will be handled at the discretion of the AVC and caterer.
Cancellation is free 7 days before your event (only if not catered). Cancellation after the respective deadline will result in a mandatory $50 donation to AVS by way of the security deposit.
Aim to arrive at least 15 minutes before your event start time, so you are present before the attendees arrive. (an hour ahead for cooking demo)
Please note that any violations to the AVC House Rules may result in your $50 deposit not being returned, and the possibility of not being invited again.
