Event Location:

American Vegan Center

The word “Vegan” was coined in 1944. But a surprising number of people were living and eating “vegan” before that.

Did you know a New Jersey town boasted regular vegan feasts in the 1850s? Or that Pennsylvania had a vegan choir in the 1740s? When and where was the first-ever vegan commune?

Join American Vegan Center director Vance Lehmkuhl for a look at proto-vegan individuals and movements through history. Understanding veganism’s past illuminates our future path.

This talk is free to attend, but please register in advance below.

NOTE: Masks will be required for this indoor event. Thank you.
