Special days or personal challenges are great ways to ask friends and family for donations, so you can support veganism and promote compassion for animals. Birthdays, weddings, donation in lieu of flowers (funerals), full and half marathons, 10Ks, 5Ks, fun runs, triathlons… You can use any form of fun activities to raise funds for American Vegan Society!
Though the most common online fundraiser is Facebook, you can also use a simple email or text message with a link to the AVS Donation Page to ask for donations. Here is some sample language you can use:
Dear Friend,
This year, I am using my birthday to raise funds for American Vegan Society (AVS), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. AVS is the longest-running vegan nonprofit organization in the United States. Their practice of nonviolence in daily living and compassion for animals attracted me to the organization, and I want to help them promote veganism, so we can help more animals! Would you help me reach my goal of $250 by donating to them today? Here is their secure donation website: https://americanvegan.org/donation/. You can also mail them a check at 56 Dinshah Drive, Malaga, NJ 08328.
Much love,
Your Friend
