This special virtual event honors American Vegan Society (AVS) founder H. Jay Dinshah on what would have been his 90th birthday.

The format of the event is a panel discussion featuring AVS President Freya Dinshah and AVS Advisors Saurabh Dalal (Veg Society of DC), Lee Hall (Vegan Place: The Art of Animal Liberation), and Victoria Moran (Main Street Vegan). Topics of discussion will be the pioneering role of Jay’s work in advancing the vegan movement in America with the founding of the American Vegan Society in 1960, and the ways in which Jay’s ethical framework can continue to inform the course of the contemporary movement.

AVS Director of Advancement Philip Murphy will serve as host and moderator for the event, which is the inaugural offering in the Vegan Ethics Speaker Series of the American Vegan Society.
